Description

Over the last decade, the question has been online versus face-to-face teaching. Having taught Mathematics online for the past few years, I have developed many effective techniques that I believe my colleagues will find very valuable. The presentation will demonstrate how to design appealing course modules, how to present the content material in multiple ways, how to use a variety of supports to the students, effective methods of professor-student communication, and how to conduct regular assessment to keep students on task. I will also discuss some of the pros and cons of online teaching, and present ways to address the drawbacks of online teaching. I will discuss how teaching Mathematics online can remove some of the obstacles that Mathematics learners experience during the traditional face-to-face teaching. I will present some statistics to show the increasing rate of teaching Mathematics online nationwide and all over the world.
