Description

BSU Project Compass is a multi-year grant-funded project focusing on improving retention and graduation rates for students of color, first-generation college, and low-income students. Through a data-driven, targeted approach, BSU Project Compass aims to increase academic and co-curricular support; develop an integrated advising process around engaged student learning to be documented in a formal portfolio; expand and improve faculty/librarian and staff development regarding culturally inclusive pedagogies and practice; improve strategies for advising in the majors; and improve data collection and analysis to continually assess intervention strategies. Five posters will summarize strategies used to meet these goals; the findings to date regarding the effectiveness of these strategies; and questions we have moving forward as we enter the last year of grant funding. The BSU Project Compass Community of Practice welcomes the opportunity to hear feedback about our work and discuss ways we can collaborate even more effectively with our colleagues campus-wide.
