Description

Once upon a time, students went to the library to use the card catalog to find research materials. They used tiny scraps of paper and mini pencils to write down call numbers before searching the stacks for their books. Taking notes on the books, students then organized the notes into a paper draft that they wrote longhand. Today, the process of writing research papers is radically different. For many students, searching Google is the first step in finding information for research papers. This session will focus on how librarians in Reference Services develop course-specific instructional sessions in conjunction with faculty members. As a result of these sessions, students may use stronger sources in their writing and will be better prepared to utilize the dizzying number of databases and resources available through Maxwell Library. Come to our session and see librarians and faculty working closely together!
